Metycle in Recycling Today: Connecting metal, data and capital

Summary
September 28, 2026

Recycling Today has reported on Metycle’s $150 million credit facility from Rivonia Road Capital. The article by Deanne Toto outlines how the financing supports our integrated approach to supplying secondary copper and aluminium: global trading, physical processing and digital verification.

Connecting the metal with its evidence

The article describes a challenge at the centre of our business: inconsistent specifications, data quality and documentation make secondary metal transactions harder to verify and finance at scale.

TrustTrack, our digital evidence layer, links records of material identity, quality, processing, custody and logistics to individual batches and trades. The purpose is to keep the material and its supporting information connected, rather than treating the physical shipment and its documentation as separate stories.

Our first SmartSorting Hub in Maasmechelen, Belgium, provides the physical processing capability. It is designed to transform mixed scrap into clearly specified, smelter-ready feedstock, using sensor data to guide sorting towards buyer specifications.

Knowledge that informs the next trade

The value of this information extends beyond a single delivery. Each processed batch and completed transaction adds to our proprietary knowledge of material characteristics, processing outcomes and trade execution. That knowledge informs subsequent sourcing and sales decisions.

The credit facility adds the capacity to finance more material through this system. For suppliers, the aim is faster execution. For industrial buyers and smelters, it is larger, more consistent flows of specified secondary feedstock.
